Welcome To Index School District

Principal’s Corner

A BIG THANK YOU! to our Index community for supporting the levy.  We appreciate the way our community works together to support our children.  We are interested in your thoughts and concerns regarding school.  One way that we can hear from you during the year is through our listening sessions:
We will meet two more times this school year to hear your thoughts and ideas about student learning and making our school a great place to learn!

Current and Upcoming Events:
Swimming Program in Snohomish:  We are one third the way through our swimming program.  The students are loving the activity and learning to swim!!   Thanks to the Assistance League of Everett- Kitty Young Auxilary for helping to provide resources to make this happen.

Students Skiing at Stevens Pass:  A big thanks to Stevens Pass Ski Area for providing season passes to all the students at Index Elementary School.  This is not sponsored by Index S.D., but it is a great opportunity for our students to experience the great outdoors!

Feb. 2nd Groundhog Day Book Talk Time: All the students had a wonderful day on February 2nd!  They presented a book talk with a partner to get others excited about reading the book.  Cocoa and groundhog cookies were consumed AND they got to wear their PJ’s for the day.

Young Authors Workshop:  On March 20th, Our students will be bringing their own manuscripts to Mt. Vernon to learn about writing books and hearing from a noted Author and  Illustrator.  We are looking forward to seeing some great stories.
Adopt-A-Stream Foundation:  March 29th Our students will be traveling to Everett to learn how to become Stream Keepers.  Our field trip will take us to Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park.  Students will learn how to care for streams and rivers, plus how to keep an ecosystem healthy.
