Message from the Superintendent
All-school field trip to Bob’s Pumpkin Patch. The students enjoyed a wonderful experience at Bob’s Pumpkin Patch! Besides finding a pumpkin, we enjoyed a storybook maze through a cornfield and learned about what essential elements are needed to maintain healthy growing conditions on a farm.
We hosted a Veterans’ Assembly
on the afternoon of Thursday, November 9th
. We were pleased to honor the Veterans of Index. Students brought in photos of family and friends feeling proud as they shared about each person.
Retired Commander Peter L. Stitt, along with other veterans, joined us and spoke to the students.
Currently, students are busy working and learning on many tasks. What students are learning this week…
5th-8th grade kids are learning with science. The kids are doing research on DNA/cloning of Woolly Mammoths. This is one possibility of a story starter for our March Young Authors Conference.
2nd – 4th grades are working with bigger numbers and placement. 3rd
grades are working with time and place values.
1st grade kids are exploring relationships between addition and subtraction, plus the class is working on descriptive words in writing.
Kindergarteners completed learning how to write and identify numbers 1 – 10.
We are thankful for all our families at Index School! Enjoy time away with your family as you spend time together!!
We have an early release on Wednesday, November 22 at 11:30. The following day is Thanksgiving. We are closed the following Friday.
