Reading

Before we delve into our first novel study and reading curriculum, we are discussing and writing about  Three Cups of Tea.
Questions include the following:
  • What does Greg Mortenson drink for nourishment?  Why is this significant to the story?
  • What does Mortenson discover about the quality of life in Korphe, specifically in regard to healthcare and education?  In what ways is the quality of life in Korphe better or worse than your own?

An important thing to know is that "paiyu cha is a hot green tea, made with salt, baking soda, goat's milk, and an aged, sour butter churned from yak's milk.  While it looks like chocolate milk, it doesn't taste like it."  Check the Bear News  (link provided on this website) for the students' answers.
