Since I love to garden, I thought I would share this picture of me and my granddaughter, Hannah, who has visited here at school most years since she was 6 years old. We are in the Kensington Palace Gardens in London  this past summer, a long awaited and planned for trip. . Gardening is one of my passions and I love seeing the students here at Index working in their garden most years. This past years, spring 2008, we could not get it done due to the rain, but hopefully, we can do it again this year.
I enjoy teaching at Index as it is such a small school and you really get to know the students.  Also, it is a big change from a larger district of over 5,000 students, where I taught for 30 years before retiring.
It is nice to be able to see students learning in small groups and individually instead of large overcrowded classrooms.  I have been here for eleven  years and will retire a second time in a few years.
My passions outside of the school are my garden, playing  violin and listening to music, writing, and playing scrabble.
This is the year of fitness so I am wearing my pedometer and trying to do 10,000 steps a day. So far, have not gotten over half that , but I will keep trying. Everybody who reads this, I challenge you to try to walk 10,000 steps a day.
