We are excited to have begun our in-school Pre-K program that started after the Spring Break. We are still accepting students. This program is designed to help prepare Pre-K students coming to the Index School District for kindergarten. The goal is for kids to become accustomed to attending school and hopefully less anxious going into the new school year. It is 2 days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays for 3 hours, 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Come and join our school with low class numbers and a wide array of field trip opportunities, swimming, bicycling, and other opportunities enjoyed throughout the year. If this is of interest to you, and your child turns 5 before August 31st, please contact the Index School District. Parents will be in charge of transportation during this program.

LYNNE KELLY, SCHOOL NURSE OF THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR!
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, LYNNE!
Lynne Kelly has been a nurse for nearly 40 years with the past 8 years being in school nursing. Lynne has worked in hospital nursing, telephone triage, and has worked as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and Registered Health Information Administrator. The past 8 years Lynne has been working as a school nurse where she has gone over and beyond the call of duty. Lynne loves serving her small rural community where she has lived since 1984. As a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Lynne has collaboratively worked with two supportive superintendents who have allowed her volunteer work with GDB puppies to continue on campus. Also, during the peak of COVID, securing grant funds via NASN and the Health Commons Project made the tiny Index Elementary School the COVID testing hub of the entire Skykomish Valley, from Snohomish to Stevens Pass. Access to this healthcare along the Highway 2 corridor can be impossible at times. Good job, Lynne!
